I’m the Weekend Adventure Warrior

Fighting to break free from the weekly grind of city life, the Weekend Adventure Warrior forms battle plans of creative weekend adventures to get his fix of adventure. Gortex is his armour, ice axes his weapons, a mountain bike his steed. He must continue to fight to inspire the masses to get out and experience the wilderness and environment as much as possible no matter how little time they have!

“The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”

Monday to Friday for many people represents the time that you sell yourself for financial gain, and the weekend, the time where you get to be you. Unfortunately you’re fighting a loosing battle, you spend 5 days a week making a living, but only 2 days making a life. That’s why it’s important that we make those 2 days count! As the Weekend Adventure Warrior, I will fight to get away, as often as possible, I will wage war on the mundane, and fill my weekends with all kinds of adventure!

Over the course of this blog I will document my weekend adventures, they will be varied and many, ranging from relaxing day trips with friends and loved ones, to epic skilled missions taking up every minute of the weekend (literally). I will walk, run, ride, climb, paddle, ski, and who knows what else, all in the name of breaking free and making the most of whatever time we have!

I aim to not only prove to you that anyone and everyone has time for adventure, but to inspire you to take that time, and spend it in a way that engages you with the people you spend time with and the places you spend that time in! The world is wonderful, and must be experienced!

My name is Adrian, and I am the Weekend Adventure Warrior!
